General
What is a wellness yacht charter?
A wellness yacht charter is a private voyage where the experience is designed around your wellbeing. Rather than simply renting a yacht, you’re booking a curated retreat at sea - with the destination, itinerary, crew, cuisine, and onboard activities all shaped to support rest, restoration, movement, or connection.
How is Halcyon Voyage different from a yacht brokerage?
A traditional brokerage helps you find and book a yacht. We do something different: we start with what you’re seeking - stillness, adventure, connection, revival - and work backwards to find the right yacht, destination, and crew to deliver that experience. We’re a wellness charter concierge, operating in partnership with Worth Avenue Yachts for the brokerage and logistics.
Do I need sailing experience?
Not at all. Every yacht comes with a professional captain and crew who handle all navigation and seamanship. You’re a guest, not a sailor. Whether it’s your first time on a yacht or your fiftieth, the crew ensures everything runs smoothly.
Planning
How far in advance should I book?
For peak season destinations (Mediterranean in July–August, Caribbean in December–March), we recommend starting the conversation six to twelve months ahead. Off-season or flexible dates give you more options and often better value. That said, last-minute availability does exist - it’s always worth asking.
What’s included in the charter price?
A typical charter includes the yacht, crew, fuel, insurance, and use of all onboard equipment (water toys, tenders, etc.). Food and beverages are usually arranged through an advance provisioning allowance (APA). Wellness practitioners, special experiences, and port fees may be additional. We’ll make everything clear before you commit.
Can I customise the itinerary?
Absolutely. Flexibility is one of the great advantages of a private yacht charter. While we’ll suggest a rhythm and route based on your experience type, everything can be adjusted - stay longer in a bay you love, skip a stop that doesn’t appeal, or change plans entirely based on weather or mood.
How do you choose which yacht is right for me?
We match yachts based on the experience you’re seeking, not just size or price. A wellness retreat requires different onboard spaces than a family adventure or a corporate offsite. We consider deck layout, crew expertise, water toy inventory, galley capability, and overall atmosphere to find the right fit.
On board
What wellness activities are available?
Depending on the yacht and voyage type, activities can include yoga, meditation, breathwork, massage therapy, wild swimming, paddleboarding, snorkelling, diving, hiking, and more. We can arrange specialist practitioners to join you on board, or recommend crew with wellness training.
What about dietary requirements?
Your private chef will accommodate any dietary need - plant-based, gluten-free, anti-inflammatory, halal, kosher, or anything else. This is discussed in advance as part of the provisioning process. Many guests find that the cuisine is one of the highlights of the voyage.
Is WiFi available on board?
Most yachts have satellite WiFi, though speeds vary depending on location. For guests seeking a digital detox, we can help set boundaries - WiFi available in certain areas or at certain times, for example. The goal isn’t to force disconnection, but to make it easy to choose.
What happens in bad weather?
Your captain monitors weather continuously and adjusts the route to find the best conditions. One of the advantages of a yacht over a fixed resort is mobility - if weather moves in, so do you. Captains in charter waters know the sheltered anchorages and alternative routes intimately.
Practical
How many guests can a yacht accommodate?
Charter yachts typically accommodate between 2 and 12 guests in private cabins, with crew in separate quarters. The right size depends on your group and experience type - a couple’s retreat needs a different yacht than a family reunion or corporate offsite.
Are children welcome?
Yes. Many yachts are well-suited to families, with experienced crew who know how to keep younger guests engaged and safe. Water toys, tender excursions, and beach treasure hunts are standard fare. We choose family-friendly yachts with appropriate safety features and cabin layouts.
What should I pack?
Light and casual. Swimwear, sun protection, comfortable clothing, and one or two slightly smarter outfits if you plan to dine ashore. We’ll send a detailed packing guide before departure. The general rule: bring half of what you think you need.
What about seasickness?
Most charter itineraries stay in sheltered waters where motion is minimal. If you’re prone to seasickness, let us know - we’ll choose destinations and yachts that minimise movement (catamarans, for example, are very stable). Modern remedies are also effective, and the crew is experienced in helping guests adjust.
